United Nations Day is celebrated worldwide every October 24 in honor of the intergovernmental organization promoting human rights, social progress, and world peace. In many Philippine schools, United Nations Day is celebrated by having students dress up in the national costumes or traditional clothing of different nations, and holding lessons about cultural diversity. The Philippines is among the 51 founding members of the United Nations. In our school, we also have this event. Students representing their sections, different costumes and classmates cheering for them. And in this school year, our representative Earl won and we are so proud of him. And as a student, we need to have a knowledge about United Nations.
